Our July entrepreneur spotlight is dedicated to Mike Wong with IKOS Toys. Mike Wong is an entrepreneur, father, mentor, and dedicated member of the PandoLabs community.
Since 2014, Mike has been involved with PCCAPS, Park City’s Center for Advanced Professional Studies. Under the guidance of Mike, three high school students were challenged to create something new, creative, and manufactured out of recycled material. Using 3D printing, the team spent months crafting what is now a product on the market, IKOS Toys.
IKOS mission is to “provide engaging and stimulating building toys to inspire creativity and learning through play with a minimal environmental footprint.” They strive to be a standard of quality, inspirational, and imaginative toys in order to expedite the implementation of spherical construction structures for humanity’s benefit.” The toy has won numerous awards since its launch including The 2016 and 2017 Kids Product of the Year.
The company recently launched a kickstarter campaign for a new IKOS product, the Brain Train Ball. The ball is geared towards a younger audience, and designed to develop young minds without the use of screens. Mike explained the campaign in the video below. Check out the kickstarter here, if you love the concept make sure to act quickly, his campaign is ending August 4th.
Mike is a member of PandoLabs’s Peer to Peer Entrepreneur Group. He says that the program has made him pay attention to details more and introduced him to people he probably would not have met on his own. Check out his PandoLabs testimonial on our home page!
